To VR or Not to VR: Assessing Cybersickness in Navigational Tasks at Different Levels of Immersion

Abstract

This study compared the Simulator Sickness Questionnaire (SSQ) and the Cybersickness in VR Questionnaire (CSQ-VR) during a maze navigation task, examining cybersickness modulation by modality (Desktop vs. VR) and habituation in a gender-balanced sample. Both tools showed high internal consistency, and VR-induced cybersickness decreased with task repetition without apparent impact on performance.
